Free Crochet Pattern: Frilly Baby Blanket Edging

Here is a free pattern for frilly baby blanket edging.

I usually use this edging for flannelette or polar fleece blankets, but it could be used on crocheted projects as well!

If you choose to purchase premade baby blankets for this project, simply cut the hem off with pinking shears to ensure the fabric doesn't fray.

Materials:

1 x baby blanket (or fabric cut to the desired size)
1 x ball of wool (I used Carnival Soft 8 ply in white)
1 x 4mm crochet hook
1 x 4.5mm crochet hook
1 x wool needle for sewing the ends in.

Key / Stitches Used:
SS – Slip Stitch
CH - Chain
SC – Single Crochet
DC – Double Crochet

Instructions:
Round 1: Using a 4mm crochet hook, SC around edge of blanket, using SS to link to first SC at the end.
Round 2: Using a 4.5mm crochet hook, **4 CH, miss one SC, SC into next SC** repeat around entire blanket and use SS to connect to the beginning of this round.
Final Round: Using a 4.5mm crochet hook, complete the following within each hole made by the 4CH **2SC, 1DC, 2SC, 1SC into the SC connecting the chain to the blanket** repeat around entire blanket and use SS to connect to the beginning of this round.

Sew the ends in.
Enjoy!
